So DCA 2020

DCA needs to do the responsible thing and shut-down for the season.

Waiting shows a sever lack leadership on their part to do the right thing.  The writing is on the wall, move on and begin to plan for 2021.

They seem to always be late to the game!

Eh, if it takes them another week or two, I think no harm done. Although it does seem obvious to me that they'll have to do this.

That's the problem.  They are always a week or two, or years behind.

Jeff is referring to something DCA's president said two or three years ago in his remarks before the awards ceremony at Finals.

Someone yesterday said the country now is in the period between the lightning and the thunder.

Also this story from Washington state bears on decisions that performing arts groups like drum corps are having to make:

"60 people showed up for a choir practice earlier this month. 45 got sick. 1 has died.

A remarkable window into how contagious coronavirus can be, even when it appears nobody is symptomatic."

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2020/coronavirus-usa-03-26#a-choir-group-had-60-people-show-up-for-practice-now-45-are-sick

And yet there are literally hundreds of variables that could have created those illnesses, and no factual evidence at all that they became sick BECAUSE they attended a rehearsal together.  More fear mongering from reporters scouring for anything that can make a scary headline.

75% of the people who attended that rehearsal got sick (and half of them have tested positive for COVID19), and you think that's just a coincidence.

OK then.

I prefer proof to conjecture.   How many other places did they visit during the week? How many other people did they come in contact with?

Think about what you're saying: if those 45 people didn't get it from someone in that group of 60, that's actually worse for the community where they live, because it means the disease was so prevalent in a bunch of other places they separately visited.
