The guard is awesome- again. Percussion is incredible- again. My jury is still out on the video boards. Part of me thought they were a little distracting and not tying into the program very well, plus some of the synch between individual corps members playing live simultaneously with video was off a tad, but the other part of me thought this is truly a neat innovation and could become the next big thing in drum corps.

And that last comment goes right to the use of the video.  Boston is trying out what I am sure a few corps have considered.  They are testing proof of concept to see what works visually, logistically, sensibly.  Along with obvious technical issues, the logistics can be a nightmare with the generator needed, cabling and moving on and off the field (as well as getting them to the field).  Think Allentown.  Think LOS ramps.  Lots of issues, but no better year than this one to try it out without crushing a score.  Oh, and then there’s the public opinion forum about anything and everything video.  Good to hear all that too.

They also did a really clever job of weaving in "Where the Streets Have No Name" by U2 into Short Ride in a Fast Machine.

Don’t they play Flight of the Bumblebee, too?

I apologize if this has already been posted but Boston has an online raffle going.  Pretty nice prize money, too.

Didn’t realize it had gotten that high!

No, there is a trio that plays Bumblebee and the corps joins in along with what I can tell is a bit of sampling, in the background

Yes, a small portion. That Flo info was first published around Memorial Day I think. Like so many other things Flo, it could be flawed information.
