What's a Spock?

The 5th drum on a set of quints or the 2 smallest drums on a six drum tenor setup. They're usually 6" drums and used to be considered more of an "effect" drum.

Only if we can edit the original question to read "But...Spock....I........don't understand.."

Now just imagine how nasty heavy the septoms from SOA in 1977 were lol. I wanna say they were 10-12-12-14-14-16-16 from what I was told. I don't even know what you could even call the "Spock" really.

You know...I don't really know lol. We always called it a "gock" drum because it sounds like gock when you hit it. Maybe someone with a more modern experience can give us an answer.

My sophomore year in HS, I came back from a Spirit camp and almost immediately ordered 6" shells for our Slingerland quads and converted them to sextuplets. They weighed approximately 7 million pounds.
