Elk Grove high school.

That's it. I remember prelims were often on a football practice field with maybe one row of bleachers and GE judges on the sidelines.

In 74, Kilties rehearsed at the condemned Manning Bowl.  I always laugh when I think of that. 😂

I remember the first time we performed there, we lined up outside the “stadium” next to police officers who were there to keep the local youth from starting trouble. Fun times!

I was kinda joking about J. Birney Crum being the BEST and WORST stadium I ever performed in ... but .... SHE DON'T LIE.

Full disclosure, the absolute worst venue ever was New Berlin Wisconsin .... in that cow pasture with no stands and a beer tent off the 20 front sideline behind the snow drift fence.

Super sop -

I really enjoyed your description about Allentown being the Best and the Worst venue. That’s a perfect way to put it !

It’s one of those pre-computer calculations we all performed at one point in our lives. In other words . . . .

1. Take a sheet of paper.

2. Draw  a straight line down the center, top to bottom.

3. Label the Left Column PRO, then the Right Column CON.

4. Complete each list to easily determine the best answer. Simple!

Problem is, we’re still trying to complete our lists after almost  50 years !

First show: Hershey 1974. There was a rock concert same night in the old hockey arena. Stadium and arena used same parking lot... think about it.

Last show: Annapolis,MD

Best/worst: nothing sticks out. Annapolis was nice but problems with logistics with HC bathroom when assistance needed. No one told volunteer the pavilion he was “guarding” would be used. Scream session and running before it was resolve “just” in time.

Worst food: only think sticking out is Rochester Rhino Stadium not selling coffee on main side for prelims. Freezing and miss a corps or two to warm up

First stadium: Riverside, CA

Last Stadium: Foxboro

Best Stadium: honestly can’t remember

Worst stadium: Pittsfield, MA. It was a muddy, rain soaked baseball field where the stands were a mile away, and off angle. By the time we went on, there were no lines. Between that and being unable to judge where the front of the field was, the 360 spin and crab step wedge was a colossal cluster****. And, because of the kneel in Clair de Lune, our white uniforms ended up covered in mud. Just in time for Finals.
