I'm my college's cymbal line sergeant. It's brand new as of last year and I basically created it, though I don't really have a great well of experience.

During long parades, how do you go about giving arms a break? From my experience, it just simply isn't realistic to have cymbals in playing position for long periods of time without breaks. We've been using a system of alternating active players while marching. Six players = 3 groups of 2. Every rep, one group puts cymbals into a rest position and then brings them back out for the next one, as the next group takes a rest. Any thoughts?
