I think my first real understanding of a composer writing specifically for an ensemble's make up and sound was Holsinger and Cadets.

"To Tame the Perilous Skies" was the best of drum corps that year, IMO.  

Holsinger and Cadets were both genius.

Could you clarify. Are you saying Holsinger wrote arrangements FOR the corps?

I think the Cadets article on this Zoom reunion suggests Holsinger helped frame the 1993 Cadets closer, for example.
