Tim K
In Massachusetts, and most likely other states as well, there have been complaints to the Attorney General’s office about sports programs and AAU groups not refunding fees after the season was cancelled. Our AG Maura Healy is aggressively pro-consumer and people expected she’d demand full refunds, but when asked about sports teams and fees, she mentioned learning that many of the programs had to pay insurance fees as well as rental fees for gyms, fields, etc. The fees and dues were already spent for services that under normal circumstances would be legitimate expenses. She’s looking at ways to refund consumers at least partially while not bankrupting sports leagues. Her belief is that in the future organizations will have insurance coverage if a season is cancelled wile also having more detailed refund policies. Covid is one of those “this point forward” situations where what we learn now will have repercussions for the future.

Lots of companies discovered this year that their business interruption insurance didn't cover "shut down by government order in response to pandemic." 1
NewToPosting
Didn't they just have a "really successful" fundraising campaign on June 13? And they're holding $1,600 per member? Shenanigans, indeed.

But for everything post March, refund or hold if the kid said they wanted to stay in 2021

Have a non binding question put on the Nov. ballot if those who pay state taxes want their money used to bail out club sports teams, etc.
