His scoring of the Verdi "Requiem" for the Reading Bucs set new standards, and inspired all of us who had aspirations to arrange for brass. Reading was playing “Requiem” my first year and heard comments from “years ahead of everyone else” to the dreaded “that ain’t Drum Corps”. Time to put in the 1974 Carlisle DVD to watch it again. It's incredible how time flies! Just wanted to take a moment to remember Red and the impact he had on the drum corps community.
