Best Show?

Recommended Posts

US Open (Marion, OH)?

American-International Open (Butler, PA)?

or

World Open (Lynn, MA)?

WHY?

Good question.

It would depend on the criteria for "best".

From the standpoint of overall geographical representation, I'd go with the US Open.

Works for me. That was just 90 minutes from home.

Oh, and I won it in ‘94. 😄

And I think from your own geographical. In the mid-west, we thought of USO as the show of shows. In the east it might have been World Open.

I just remember getting the Fleetwood records from both and playing them endlessly.

"Best":  My vote for the World Open.  In 1964 and 65 it was at "Home"  Bridgeport Conn, the inaugural was in Jersey City NJ at the old Roosevelt Stadium. The Mass shows were well within travel distance from Conn.  Have many of the albums, and marched in the 1963, 65 and 66 Finals, and the 1964 Prelims myself.

That's impressive and I didn't know that Lynn wasn't the original home of the World Open.
