I had a client in Fort Myers that had a large, head-office complex.  In front was a large lagoon with a driveway that circled around it leading to the main entrance and parking lot.

The lagoon had a resident alligator which would periodically decide to sun itself on the driveway.  When that happened, cars would back up and everyone would just wait for the alligator to move.   It was actually quite funny when this happened.

true story in July 2001 i went to Gainesville to be in a very good friends wedding. he took me on a tour of UF campus, and as we approached the Stadium...aka The Swamp, right next to a legit swamp......traffic was at a stop. he guessed gator, we got out and looked and sure enough a 10 footer was making his way from the stadium to the other swamp.

I might end up in Boca which is nice but alligators are one part of that equation I don’t look forward to.

Living in Arizona, I have extracted a lot of scorpions from my house, and never give a second thought to walking in places that mountain lions have been sighted.

But alligators scare the living bejeebers out of me.

Lol Took the “swamp tour” at a mansion near Charleston SC. Later walked a path and “wow look at that statue of a really big gator”. Then a front leg of the “statue” moved. It was about 15 feet off the path and we decided not to see how fast they can turn around. 😬😬😬😬😬

Finally caught up on this thread.  Couple of thoughts:

1.) Do we know yet if DCI will NOT be doing a theater event from Indy?  There was a lot of talk in the thread that people would rather see an Indy event in the theater than the preview.  Perhaps DCI will do something like the Thursday night from Indy in the theater, similar to how they do the first show and then Thursday’s show from Indy in the theaters every season.

2.) I believe I read that the preview this year won’t just be reruns - I thought they will also be doing a “look-in” or two with current corps for their shows this year.  I know that’s not the main focus of the preview, but at least we will get a chance to see something for the current season.

3.) I think it would be cool if Dan Potter were to do his Season Preview podcast for the first time as part of the theater broadcast.  I always look forward to listening to it to get a glimpse into the upcoming season.  That might draw a little interest to the preview.  DCI could then always put the podcast onto the Internet after the preview.

1.) To date, 'negative Ghost Rider'.  Only FloMarching events. 🙄

2.) https://www.dci.org/news/drum-corps-international-will-march-back-into-cinemas-on-july-15

3.) I'm sure he'll narrate the July 15th theatre event. 😁

I’m not afraid of them.  I have coyotes walk up on the patio here. Where I’m moving has bobcats and that doesn’t bother me either.  What does bother me is rattlesnakes.

At least you usually get a warning from rattlesnakes- the one you should worry about are the cottonmouths.

Yeah coyotes are everywhere here.  We get some beautiful late night concerts.

I was working in the backyard one night and a bobcat strolled by about 15 feet away.  Then he jumped up to the top of our 6 foot wall, trotted along the edge like a tightrope, and jumped off into the next yard.

Beautiful animals.
