That’s not true! There is not equal justice under the law, at least not in Cali. You can be canceled at the drop of a hat.

Mod hat here...removed a couple of posts. Please be careful of what you post, language-wise.

Darn…. had a nasty response but don’t feel like a time out… 🙄

The issue, in part, is that to be in the 'offender registry' (or whatever it is called in a given jurisdiction) is you have to be convicted at least once.

Everyone on DCP is one swing away from being an axe murderer, but just because of that we are not all listed in the 'axe murderer registry'. And with 'innocent until proven guilty' as a cornerstone of the US criminal law system, this isn't going change.

Yep. IIRC, PA has 2-4 individuals a year who are found to be offenders through 34/151/88 who apply for work in schools. which is good. I would also imagine it's a deterrent, which explains so few postives.

I have a guess the Commonwealth is profiting from this by some reasonable amount- if those profits were tuirned back into dealing with Abuse Victims and Abuse Awareness, the 60 bucks a person per year would be well spent IMHO. But I have a feeling that's not happening.

As for the accused in this thread, note I use the term accused. The courts will determine guilt or not, and the associated punishments. It may take time as it did with GH, but some kind of determination will be made in the end.

W are the three checks all though the state? Years back had 2 checks, 1 was PSP (PA State Police for you non PAers) and one was a nationwide registry. Either $10 or $20 each. Just wondering what the process is today.

Don't forget, in this case the accused has not been charged with physically molesting anybody that will require a lot of witnesses and other up-front analysis/investigation. It is not really a GH equivalent case. or as the same type of thing some here have spun off from the OP. Not worse and not less at the end of the day, just different.

The existence of child porn in the person's possession is either "yes he has it" or "no he doesn't". An IP address for the dissemination charge is also pretty cut and dried.

If convicted he deserves the maximum he can get. People who possess and distribute child porn drive the demand and existence of it, and this endangers children in the creation of those images. Again, I am not minimizing the charge; to me it is just a different type of crime.
