Phantom56
I loved the instant encores at this years finals. Fun and entertaining. I hope DCI will consider keeping them next year, perhaps by alternating the corps who do them-- day by day.
mjoakes
Nice idea. Some, yes, but fewer of them would work for me.
OldSnareDrummer
I'm already up way past my bedtime on Finals night.
ibexpercussion
If they did every 3rd or 4th group, that would work for me. And also, I'd like it to be their corps songs, or traditional encore pieces (or pieces specific to that year, as Genesis had the perfect encore piece) instead of replaying 90 seconds or so of their show.
Tony L.
I do not think I would like that, on Finals specifically. The flow of a Finals night is just so seemingly fast and the anticipation builds with each corps taking the field. I think an encore after a Finals performance would just kill that flow. Oh, and anything later means nothing to eat or drink after the show since Indy closes sooooo early!
Tim K
I enjoyed many of the instant encores, but I am not sure I would add it to any of the Indy events. Prelims and semi’s are already long days, finals has enough excitement already. My recommendation would be to have a draw. One third perform in San Antonio, one third in Atlanta, and one third in Allentown.
skevinp
I just don’t think there is time at Indy. It would make more since at small local shows without big lineups. Also small shows allow for a more up close and personal experience that lets the audience bond with the corps, such as when BK can’t take their eyes off of you. The Mesa AZ show has done it in the past when the lineup was small and it worked quite well.
