I am STOKED to watch BD’s rehearsal tonight

I am soooo jealous!  I would have donated a kidney for a chance to see them live this year, but it wasn’t meant to be.  Enjoy every second!

Heading over right now 🙂

my jealousy 😪

Today I treated myself to a lil trip to Six Flags to get a little me time away from the family (ie 2 cats). Rode El Toro til I was tempus blue in the face in BD’s honor. Even got some dippin dots in solidarity with BK. Would have done a nice lil salute to Bloo, too, but apparently that’s “not allowed,” even in smoking areas. I did, however, get some Crown love in, by downloading the six flags app and never using it. 😉

Going to turn this thread into my personal live blog if that’s okay with everyone 😂

Decent sized crowd here. Found a seat in the blast zone.

corps was working on tank when I got here. Working on some timing and feet issues and in low brass. Also working on the mix within the pit to make sure everything is sounding balanced. I am amazed by how quickly the members are able to pickup and internalize any changes asked of them and implement perfectly on the next run. Drumset player especially is being asked to memorize a lot of small little changes that are likely muscle memory to him (such as just lightening up on a certain beat so that the electronics specialists don’t have to change up the mix in that moment)

They did one full run of tank and it sounded incredible, they are absolutely locked in and the staff seemed very happy. Corps is taking a water break and bringing the props onto the field to begin full ensemble run

Mesmerized by how quickly the staff in the box picks up the smallest of mistakes. Guard tech was able to point out exactly why there was a little bit of fuzz in the flag work in the opener and gave explicit and clear instructions on how to fix it. Brass sounded great, staff wants hornline to continue working to make sure no feet are heard during the long sustained chords in the opener. Staff are really focusing on performance intensity (maintaining volume through the chords, throwing the jackets more chaotically for better visual chaos in the visual opening moment, etc)
