jjeffeory
Looks like Music City has announced their show theme "Gasoline Rainbows". Let's hope for more corps to announce VERY soon! https://www.dci.org/news/music-city-dusting-off-20-production-diving-underwater-with-2022s-gasoline-rainbows
RetiredMusTeach
Thanks for posting the article, which I had not yet seen. It's really good. I was at their Open House on May 1st and they played the music for the whole show, without interruption. I was stunned by it and so was the whole crowd, all of us jumping to our feet and cheering at the end. Not what I had come to expect to hear and see at a Music City April Open House. The guard performed the first movement of the show, caught all the flying guns and flipping flags right on beat. And the power coming out of the brass line was truly hair-parting. I had been warned by Joe Roach to bring ear plugs, which I did, but I didn't want to use them, I wanted to experience it all. This remark by Joe Roach pretty much summed it up: “The first minute of this production, people are going to ask, ‘Wait, who is this?’” Music City director Joe Roach said. “I’m really excited about that." Here's a great little video they just posted about the April camp. https://www.facebook.com/MusicCityDrumCorps/videos/343305191122999/ Edited May 12, 2022 by RetiredMusTeach Additional info 3

RetiredMusTeach
Great article about Music City and the show in the local newspaper - Humboldt, TN. The town has been great. https://www.milanmirrorexchange.com/2022/06/14/music-city-corps-comes-to-town/?fbclid=IwAR3mMn1-ws5fkN2SDO1T2o_GgPGqFUrhevMJNVMexVHRYz705RdDjEZH9Hc
RetiredMusTeach
Since most of you haven't seen Music City's "Pearl Harbor" show yet and their very cool uniforms, here's the Music City percussion in the lot right before the show. After warmups, they play through the whole show. This was live-streamed on DCI's FB page. https://www.facebook.com/drumcorpsinternational/videos/549366993338344

RetiredMusTeach
The new July online edition of Drum Corps World lists the repertoire of Music City in the first article, the first time I've seen it listed anywhere. The first 3 numbers are all original compositions by C.J. Barrow: "It's Been Many Years", "That Fateful Day", and "Heavy Metal Underwater". Then "Heroes" by David Bowie and Brian Eno, and finally "Message in a Bottle" by Sting. 3
