Drill writers with titles

Recommended Posts

The "best drill writers" thread got me curious about drill writers that have won titles.

Tell me about 72 to 90, and any mistakes below. Zingali wrote for Cadets, but for all of the threepeat?

1991 - Zingali

1992 - Brubaker

1993 - Sylvester

1994 - Murphy

1995 - Pocklacki

1996 - Cesario/Murphy

1997 - Murphy

1998 - Sacktig

1999 - Rosander/Murphy

2000 - Gaines/Sacktig

2001 - Gaines

2002 - Gaines

2003 - Murphy

2004 - Gaines

2005 - Sacktig

2006 - Gaines

2007 - Murphy

2008 - Scotella

2009 - Murphy

2010 - Murphy

2011 - Sacktig

2012 - Murphy

2013 - May

2014 - Murphy

2015 - Murphy

2016 - Vanderkolff

2017 - Murphy

2018 - Gaines

2019 - Murphy

2021 - Hunt (pretty much)

2022 - Estudillo (expected)

I’m not certain Jay Murphy collaborated with anyone in 96 & 99 but I did drop out of DC for a while, so maybe.

1996, 1999 and 2000 were ties for 1st...not collaborations...

A point to be made here, if there is one, is that favorite drill writers don't necessarily win titles, and titleists aren't necessarily on a lot of favorites lists.

(Of course, many components make a titleist, not just drill)

Todd Ryan 1988 Madison

Myron Rosander 1989 and 1999 SCV

And did Zingali and Marc Sylvester collaborate for the 1990 Cadets?
