While I suspect it will have no effect on your lifestyle (I hope), it is indicative of something greater.

Monkeypox isn’t a new disease. The first confirmed human case was in 1970, when the virus was isolated from a child suspected of having smallpox in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Monkeypox is unlikely to cause another pandemic, but with the COVID-19 mindsets still present by many, fear of another major outbreak is understandable.

Off topic but, to educate, monkeypox virus is completely unrelated to Covid-19 virus.  Discovered in 1970, but around for far longer (millennia).  In same category of viruses as smallpox, but disease is far milder.  There may be some cross-immunity between monkeypox & smallpox - people who got MP (which presents as a very mild case of smallpox)  you don't get smallpox.

Since I am a dog owner, I am more concerned about Shelty Pox.

His whole side is available publicly on his Facebook page. I'd be really curious to know more but we all know that isn't happening.

Madison should have done that in 2007.  Half measures reap half results.

It isn't going to be front page news on the Philadelphia Inquirer, but they should have known that within the Drum Corps world in particular and the marching arts world in general that this would be a big deal.  So, you get in front of it.  Not try to play catch-up like we have seen multiple times since the Hopacolypse.

well Hops kid praised him in the comments of that means anything

This.

I’d be surprised if SCV as an organization said anything about this current issue. Their MO has always been to be as tight-lipped on everything as possible, whether that’s show announcements, an important staff member leaving suddenly, or anything else especially internal. It’s up for debate whether some or any of those things should be talked about publicly, for me it depends largely on the situation.

My bet is they’ll take the “don’t talk about it and it’ll go away eventually” approach for this one.

they don't talk about Bruno.

oh wait he was never there was he?
