Lovely piece with personal meaning for me, particularly that year. I come back from my walk and it's STILL in my head and I swear I'm hearing it. Then ... wait I AM hearing it. I go over the field to find them at the middle school behind my apartments rehearsing it. I sat there for awhile just soaking it in from the back field. When they broke for lunch I hollered VANGUARD! at the top of my lungs which made all the heads turn and wave.
