Even better when marchng AND staging are put together with a full musical thought (playing).  Can be quite effective and quite a bit of demand.

but the trends are the trends. no matter how much we complain on here, they're gonna do what they're gonna do.

and the corps write the sheets, so it's not the judging communities fault

Sorry, they may write the sheets but the judges are the final arbiter of what that sheet gleans.  Whomever influences the judges best...wins.  So yes, shows can be won in November....

Sure the judges are the final arbiters. they don't make the rules, they enforce them so to speak. Umpires in baseball don't make the rules, they enforce them. judging has some wild interpretations sometimes...just like the strike zone. or football.....the refs don't make the rules, they just interpret holding or pass interference on the fly.

One big difference,  corps score is entirely up to what that judge is conditioned to think and adjudicate.  Completely arbitrary.

Almost there Jeff!!!  Kudos!!!  So you think all 20 corps have equal representation on this "conditioning"?  OR perhaps the corps that have the means and branched out into "judging" seminars and whatnot may JUST have a little more sway?  C'mon Jeff you are almost there I know you can connect the dots.  I have faith in you!

Oh, and I'll considerer you conceded the point about scoring and your example.

never said all have equal voice. not in the 20 years i have been here. but "seminars" has nothing to do with it. the top dogs have always set the tone, going back 50 years. only once did the non top dogs fight back, and that was in 2010 and had nothing to do with score sheets

Did everyone see Phantom’s staff announcement today!? Looks super promising.

Do tell, please. Funny, I didn’t see anything mentioned during last weekend’s HOF Gala.
