Old Corps Guy
Is it just me, or are we seeing many shows this year that appear to be "Dark" based on the announcements? We have about half of the World Class announcements and many look dark. Not complaining, some of the best pieces ever written and pull at the heartstrings are the pieces that are quite dark. Lance
What this means is that we need VK back.

Not sure about "dark" but more abstract. I really have no idea what most of these show announcements will produce. Straight forward shows are rare like Les Mis or Bluecoats Beatles themed show.

The more seriously corps seem to take themselves (or their shows), the less seriously I seem to be able to take them. VK is certainly missed.

I am so glad I am not the only one who has really little to no idea what the announced show themes are/mean or even the source music in most cases for that matter lol. good is good and things don’t have to be overly complex to be good . I am not sure why corps feel the need to get so abstract and in the weeds with their concepts. I just got back from Hawaii let me tell you something I’ve never seen a show based on Hawaiian culture. it would be absolutely amazing 😁 Edited May 31, 2023 by Triple Forte

Call the show dark, vanilla, heavy or light. Just friggin' entertain me.
LoveKathyG
Most shows are only dark on Mondays. You're welcome.
