There were people sitting near us in Mandarins shirts telling people to put their phones down! I have never seen that before. Mix of somewhat funny and alot ridiculous! Excited for Mt. Sac!
Popular Post Chief Guns
This show. I don't even know where to start. If Sinnerman was a puppy, Vieux Carre is a freaking Rottweiler. The talent on the field. My goodness. @brassboy tried to warn me. He saw a couple of rehearsals thru out the week. I wasn't ready. No one in attendance was ready. Wait till all of you see Vieux Carre.

I am not sure if they were all staff or fans helping in making sure nothing gets leaked. All I know is I wasn't trying to get called out lol.

The key now is who will be the cleanest by seasons end.....
Popular Post brassboy
A few thoughts on Family Day: - The brass played a couple encore songs, including “Brand New” (debuted last year) and Jacob Collier’s “World O World,” which absolutely brought down the house. They played this prior to the 2024 production run-through, and it really set the tone for what was to come with this MONSTER brassline. - I’m not a drum person, but from what I can tell this year’s battery is already ahead of where they were at this point last year. - Creative Director Becca Anderson gave a wonderfully-enlightening explanation of this year’s production, and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t record THAT because it helped me appreciate the show even more (I hope they’ll eventually post a similar breakdown on their social media platforms). I won’t even attempt to summarize what she shared because I’d likely butcher it or leave out important info. - This year’s corps is so incredibly talented across the board. The step up in the brass line is heard and felt right off the bat. They’ve got SO much volume, and they have a balanced, blended sound beyond any previous line. Vieux Carré is definitely a show that folks won’t be able to digest in one viewing, especially since there will be additional layers added throughout the season. I am SO excited to see how far Mandarins will go this season with their most talented corps to date. 5

I have no idea what they sound or look like now since they have decided to raise the bar from last year. I hope to get a preview before the premiere.
croden
So from what I understand the props are currently looking like "white billboards". Is there any intel on what may be on them? I could imagine building facades mimicking NOLA style buildings, but I could be way way off! Also what's the uniform sitch?

From Sinnerman to Vieux Carre, she is absolutely killing it. All I keep thinking about is the vid the Mandarins kids put out last week, and they all said the world isn't ready for Vieux Carre. They were right. They knew what was coming. None of us were ready. I can't wait for for this show to be unleashed on the world Friday night. Can you imagine the response and reception this show is going to yet Friday in front of all the band kids?!
