Phantom Regiment 2024

Just looking at scores over time, Crown and Devs have hit a small plateau, while Regiment is like a freight train. Am I dreaming here when I say it could be a race to the finish between these three? (Edit: not for first, but these three jockeying for position). I’m not sure BD has the vehicle to finish strong. I’d be surprised to see Crown flatten out for too long. Phantom on the other hand seems to be making huge strides every night. Maybe I’m just overly excited.

Regiment possibly beating BD and/or Crown? No.

Id love it but u agree. Just not enough demand to get in that tier. But I will say hat there no way I thought they’d be as close to that tier as they are so kudos.

I don’t think that happens sadly. BD always finishes strong, whether we like it or not, so I’m just ignoring them in this conversation for the time being. I do think Crown ends up 4th when it’s all said and done. Phantom’s goal for the rest of the season to me is to narrow that gap between them and the top four corps as much as possible, that is if they have locked down that 5th place spot from SCV and the Mandarins, which I need to see head-to-head to believe. Now, could something crazy happen where Phantom narrows that gap down enough to give them a fighting chance at 4th in Finals (like 8th in 2022)? Sure, especially with a show as electric and emotional as this one, but that’s so abnormal in modern DCI that I wouldn’t count on it at this point. Whatever the case, Phantom has a beast of a show this year that is going to set them up well for the years to come.

I suspect if they're real, they're what's being worked on for San Antonio.  The show reveal discussion particularly mentioned San Antonio for something new.

Well, with some subtle changes to the closer tonight, I think that it is possibly the addition of some slick little drill right at the end of that closer to hit harder. It would be super hard to add any new props to a show that hits as hard as this one does.

Yes, drawing out the musical portion of the ending is setting up for some sort of design change. At least it should be!

If they're around a couple points of BD by finals, the Regiment staff should get an award of some sort.

I do think it's possible that by finals week, Regiment pep talks will be about overtaking the likes of Crown. (with no chance of coming to fruition, but it wouldn't be an outlandish aspiration)

The pep talks that have been published in the past have all been about being the best Regiment they can be. No mention of competitors or scores or placements. I'm sure these things are discussed, but as long as Regiment keeps doing what their doing, they will "win" in many fans hearts this year.

My point was it would not be outlandish to aspire to overtaking Crown at finals week.

Why not? They are firing on a cylinders. Who knows what they still have to add to the show for demand?

I am enjoying the thought of keeping pace with the top 4 and it feels great!

This next week will be telling and fun!
