Now, I do think today is a little different in that many corps have very few, if any, local people, but member attitude can do so much.

Agreed. And remember that a major difference then and now is potential member saturation of your content. I marched local as probably most of us did at least in the 80s. I was exposed specifically to my local corps and besides going to ATL or Birmingham for shows, didn't see much content from other corps. Now potential members have thousands of hours of content at their fingertips. The positive member attitude has expanded beyond the local "market."

Instead they fell .8 from the night before. Still scratching my head over that one. I know others have said they had little rehearsal time and some fatigue might have impacted their performance, but that score just felt off.

Great video and also a recruiting tool. How could any young musician/performer not watch a few shows, see a video like this and say, wow, I'd really like to be a part of all of that?

Plenty of rehearsing the last two days. I expect they will be fantastic tonight.

My wife, who knows very little about DCI, watched Broken Arrow with me on Flo. This morning (failing to remember the names of the corps) said, “I want to watch Mynd again.” She gets it.

Ok, they didn't fall. Their performance at Broken Arrow wasn't worse than their prior performance. They were against a different (much better) set of corps. They are getting better and better regardless of what the score says. I think score ups and downs should be more than norm than it is.
