Not all victims actually have remedy at the end of the day. Sad, but reality. Plaintiff has sued and Defendant is defending themselves. That's how this is supposed to go when there is a dispute, no end-run around it. Quote

I am very curious what the plaintiff’s desired outcome is in this case. With Cadets/DCI it is clearly financial, but with SoA/DCI I don’t think that it has been publicly stated. This is why I want to see what the lawsuit actually says. 1 Quote

It's a civil action. All civil actions are financial at the end of the day. 3 1 Quote

ETA - same question applies to Cadets/DCI lawsuit. Edited May 3, 2024 by IllianaLancerContra Quote

I'm not speaking to the legal system, which regularly fails victims because there are rarely compassionate mechanisms in place for remedy. I'm saying that international safeguarding standards require that organizations provide internal mechanisms for remedy. This is something I'm under the impression that SOA could build towards, given that they're the only org with an executive level safeguarding officer. Edit to add: I also refuse to believe that just because the broken legal system can't provide remedy that we can't work towards finding better solutions in this activity. Other and international sports are already doing that, we just have to apply what they've learned. One benefit of doing so would be avoidance of the broken legal system. Victims don't keep pushing if they've been provided remedy. Edited May 3, 2024 by scheherazadesghost so many typos 2 1 Quote

Anything like that which isn't sealed confidential by the Court could become public. 2 Quote
