Maybe the group performing tonight I'm most looking forward to seeing. The Cavaliers org has such a good thing going with these kids.

Wonder if we’ll see any flip flops in placements from the past few shows where these corps competed against each other!

Though I asked my taxi service college friends Teresa and Tony to meet me at the Downers Grove Metra train stop at 2:23 Sunday afternoon, I arrived instead at 11:23.

You gotta get out of the city on this gorgeous day.

Feasting on the $6.75 special at Aurelio’s: a choice of any two pizza slices and a pop from the cooler. Root beer goes with anything.

The restaurant walls are filled with faded photographs: a 1992 little league team, a 2007 plaque from Boy Scout Troop 181.

A customer with a friendly golden retriever orders 2 slices to go.

It’s a perfect day for relaxing, charging the phone, reading the Sunday funnies, and anticipating seeing great friends and corps.
