If I had to put $100 down on who I think it's going to win the Ott, I'd place that bet on Crown. I think the other lines are fully competent to win brass as well, but I'd still put my money on Crown. I may lose that $100, but it's the bet I would make. I think Bloos brass is hot this year. I get the impression they’ve somehow chopped it up and rolling out segments which is why it doesn’t flow perfectly yet. Parts sound really good. kdaddy Posted July 17 Share Posted July 17 Another thought from last night that isn't meant to be snarky, but it was nevertheless a thought... Sometimes two corps play the same tune the same year. And especially depending on design, experience, talent of members, and how it's used, among others, one will seem clearly superior to the other. A couple examples: - Strawberry Soup in 93. I like the Scouts version, but it ain't BD. - Blue Shades in 99. SCV's version blew me away compared to Xmen (a Klesch arrangement btw). - And now Agape in 24.
