We can agree to disagree. I for one, refuse to call uniforms costumes. What kind of cheap Halloween party nonsense are they wearing a costume to?

Hats would've made BD look so much taller this year, would've been amazing. Crown needed them too

And lastly, evolution isn't always a good thing. Take the choreo out, it's not that interesting and that's what the guard is for anyway

Yes, we'll hae to agree to disagree. I can't see your points. I do miss the focus being on the music and drill, certainly, but even if the activity went back to that I would prefer the modern costumes to remain. I just feel they look so much better, more modern, and less militaristic. My God, I would have loved to have worn things like today when I marched. Our uniforms were so heavy and hot, although I liked the look of them.

Oh yeah, we didn't. The '88 tour though the south was so hot. It was brutal on the buses, even with the widows open. I envy today's uniforming for sure.

Is that anything like Cowboy Bebop?..My grandkids grew up loving that

I’m not sure, to be honest. I’ve heard of it (and the Netflix series) but don’t really know anything about it.

88 was hell on Earth.  Valves would dry out.  Put your horn down in the sun for a minute and you were getting burned.  Grass evaporated from practice fields.   Fun...

There isn't even a soundtrack for No Country for Old Men. There was no music in the entire film until the closing credits.

Minimalist’s Dream - Drum Corps version of USMC Silent Drill Team.  All uniforms and equipment could fit on one truck.  No need for horns, drums, pit equipment, or electronics.

I think the truly great designers go back to the drawing board every year, because that's their happy place and that's where the magic happens.

In general, I disagree with the idea that some teams use a "formula" for designing drum corps shows. What some see as formulaic or even "cookie cutter" I see as the result of continuity in a design team and the thumb print of those individual personalities and styles on their design. Sure, designers understand what works competitively, but they also have their unique vision for how that translates to the field.

It's seems disingenuous to suggest that the Troopers use of western/americana is their "Corps Identity" while BD is labeled as formulaic.

Seriously, lack of air conditioning was the least of our worries with those busses 😂
