MarkHornGA Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 BLOOOOOO! The quest for a repeat begins NOW! What’s going to happen in year two of Bloo’s collaboration with Son Lux? What’s the next innovative push? What do we hope to see? 3 Quote
DrumManTx Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 No idea where they go from here and I think that's hella exciting. I think they're doing some legit new music in collaboration with Son Lux if I remember reading correctly. Cannot wait. What's super exciting now is they've won everything but colorguard and haven't been far from 1st there either. It's no longer "just the shows", they've turning into a juggernaut in every caption and that's scary 😈 3 Quote

In general, I really enjoy Bloo's use of contemporary artists. I expect they will continue to be a contender for all captions. The CG was strong, and I think the thing that held them back SLIGHTLY was their content. Which, if you go back and look at just the guard, they are doing a lot! Lots of big tosses, intricate weapon work, whole guard flag work, choreo, interacting with props, etc. BAC and BD seemed to feature their guards more and they had additional difficulty with using new implements like the hoops. Anyways... Let the wait begin... 1 Quote

jameseuph Posted April 27, 2025 Posted April 27, 2025 Doug Thrower isn’t listed on the staff page on the Bluecoats website. Did he leave? Quote

Music for 2025 will be from the band Son Lux , Ryan Lott composing original composition for the Bluecoats . Bluecoats will play other compositions from other music artists as well too , but not arranged by Doug . That’s my understanding . Others closer to the corps can fill in the blanks , or clarify if Doug Thrower will still be with the Corps this season. Edited April 27, 2025 by Boss Anova 1 4 Quote

Son Lux worked very well last year. Hope the new music has its own distinct sound. Is this season a continuation theme from last year? Like The Zone Part 2. But except now about how everything is broken down you can rebuild into something beautiful? Edited April 27, 2025 by NewArpege Quote
