Thanos
It's time for the Phantom 2025 Thread. This year proved to be PR's best year since 2012. As they continue to push forward more, where do we all see them going into next year? SUTA!

Anybody here know if the 2 that did the jazzy duet the 2nd half of the show are still age eligible ? My goodness, they sure are uber talented.
college-phan
I expect Phantom to start pushing the envelope next year. They had very few age-outs compared to other corps and everything I’ve heard so far indicates they should have really good vet retention numbers. Shaw will create an even more demanding brass book next year (which I expect to build on the highpoints of this year’s book and maybe have some different sounds from what Phantom traditionally has done) and I think the new percussion and guard staffs will really start hitting their stride. Make no mistake, they are not content with just getting fourth. They want some medals and trophies.
college-phan
Oh, I’ll also remind everyone that 2026 will be Phantom’s 70th anniversary season and the alumni corps will be performing at Finals. If you don’t think they’ll be gunning for a gold metal that year, more than usual, you’re crazy. That’s why 2025 will be a big year for Phantom imo: to get ready for 2026. 1

Can't think of a better year for it either!

I saw both of them in the age outs photos on social media. 😞 And yes, they were both super talented. But I believe that they have plenty of talent to handle whatever magnificent score J. D. Shaw writes next year!
drumhead31
Ben Stone was a soloist in 2022 and 2023 also. This was ageout year for both players. 1
kdaddy
Here's hoping Blake Dutton and Eryn Boone are back and recruiting goes well. The entire corps has made strides, but the guard especially. 2019: 14th in guard 2024: 5th in guard
college-phan
Is Phantom in danger of losing anyone on staff? As far as I know, we should expect the same design staff back for next year, correct? The only thing that makes me nervous is Estudillo if Cavies clean house and come calling, but hopefully he feels at home with Phantom. KVG_DC
I'd hope the staff buy in at Phantom is strong. They have a really good team going it seems and are ready to push to the next level of demand and medal.
