MGCtimp Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 The percussion team is unchanged except for the writers, who were promoted from caption leadership positions Quote
Jurassic Lancer Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 I see Tom Aungst is in a design advisory role … could he also step in as a caption head? Quote

No reason to, they have Josh Brickey writing and managing battery, and he’s more than capable. I suspect there is a leadership role for Aungst that hasn’t been announced yet (they didn’t say anything about who’ll be teaching the show today), so I’m guessing there might be a more hands on role there for him (?) 1 Quote
billj Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Has Pete Weber ever written for the Cavaliers? In any case, they will have a visually engaging and creative drill in 2025. This should bode well. Quote

No, this will be his first time writing for any DCI corps since SCV in 2017. I was concerned when I saw the announcement today that maybe he'd been away too long, but in looking at 2016 and 17 SCV, he knows how to write with props and to make them integrated into the show. Josh is the one who got the percussion back from the depths to competitive after all the Mac stuff went down. he's got a clue, and i'm not sure tom even wants that anymore 2 1 Quote

However, drill has changed a bit since then. I'm sure he'll be great, but it's a different visual environment relative to just a few short years ago. Quote
