Somebody posted earlier on another thread that Crown has a brand new food truck.  Maybe their old one might be for sale.

And the press release from Troop is accurate on how much they cost.  BAC replaced their old food truck just before covid hit and somebody told me it was over $220,000. And that was over 5 years ago.

Btw, another example of how much it costs to run a drum corps these days.

Just donated.   Isn’t much—only $20—but I hope it helps.  The activity is better off with a strong, healthy Troopers organization.

This is why I made the thread. If it led to anyone donating anything, then it served its purpose.

Just think, if every person in attendance at finals last year gave just 20 dollars (unrealistic, but it’s a broader point), they’d have $400K+ to get a new truck.

It would help them to to have a visual tracker of how much money they have made. like gofundme does.

I’m not sure if they funds they are collecting is also being counted in there Drum Corps Rivalry total or not. But if they are, that’s at least some visual.

I think between the tour and not sure of exactly the route they are going to go to replace the truck would prevent them from putting up a visual tracker. I think they’d want to show a goal number and they don’t have that yet.

Done. The Troopers were my introduction to drum corps in the 70s. As young'uns, we awoke to discover a caravan had invaded our elementary school. We watched in awe as they rehearsed. Hours later, as they began boarding the busses donning the classic cavalry uniforms, our state of awe grew exponentially, and I was hooked.

I really believe that works. I saw drum corps for the first time in 1968 at the Illinois state fair show. Didn’t think about it much until 1971 when Norwood Park Imperials held their spring camp at my junior high.   I joined them in the fall.
