Good evening, and welcome to STA Stadium on the grounds of Williamsport Area High School in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, site of the 2025 DCI Williamsport event! My name is Kevin Gamin, Managing Editor of Drum Corps Planet, and I will provide you LIVE! From the Stands coverage of tonight’s action. We are just 15 minutes from the start of the show, so get settled into your seats, whether you’re at home or in the stands here, and let’s have a fun time together!

My view for tonight:

Did you forget to shower?   Is that why they put you in a corner?

Nobody puts Kevin in a corner! 😄

I set up this far out so I’m not in anybody’s way. I’ve got a whole setup that takes up the seat in front of me. I’ll post a picture when I get a chance.

This does’t include my smartphone as that’s what I took the photo with, but that’s my Internet source most of the time.

Steve Rondinaro is announcing tonight. He’s up in the press box, so I can’t get a photo of him in action.

What a great arrangement of the National Anthem and the Freelancers perform it wonderfully.

First on the field in DCI SoundSport is the Freelancers Alumni from Sacramento, California .Their 2025 program is unnamed and consists of:

Give It One
Believe In You
Momento Magico

Great start to the show with Give It One. I need to look up who else has played this chart, because it’s a blast. Last time I heard it was San Francisco Renegades minicorps, I believe in 2005.

Something that always impresses me about Freelancers Alumni is their balance and blend. Even all the way out here, I can hear every part played, with nobody sticking out.

And, of course, you have to have at least one trumpet screamer if you’re the Freelancers. They have more than one, that’s for sure. Current soloists are wailing all over the staff, as well as above it. Crowd approves.
