Popular Post jasgre2000 Posted August 7, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 7, 2025 It's absolutely insane to me that, now that DCI has decided to no longer make or sell BluRays, there is literally no way for Marching Members to obtain a professional, legal copy of their own performances. And even more insane to me that no one in the leadership of DCI seems to care enough to do anything to fix that problem. I would be angry if I were an MM or parent of an MM. Your only options now are to (1) find an illegal copy of the stream or (2) just forget about it once the season is over after all the hard work you put in? There are solutions to this problem. It may cost some money, but of all the things DCI spends money on, you would think this would be a pretty high priority. It's just disrespectful to the people working their ##### off all season to create these awesome shows to just settle for the current situation. 3 9 1 Quote
MikeN Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 If nothing else, just get the video sales rights for individual videos like they used to have on MMDL and use the straight copy of the Flo streams. Mark up from whatever it costs. Ain't ideal, but for one family wanting one copy of their own video, it's at least an option. Mike Quote
Jeff Ream Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 i believe the corps get a copy and distribute them 1 Quote
MikeN Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 We never distributed them - that's not technically Fair Use. Just kept them to play on our tabletop display. Mike Quote
Tommeee Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 It’s hard to believe that nobody has seen a quality video since 2019. Neither Flo nor the movie theater are giving as high quality as I can get from my own average home theater system with a blu-ray. No question, this is a missed opportunity by DCI. Quote
fighterkit Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 Very very sad I never got a high quality video of my age out 😞 Quote
TheOneWhoKnows Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 Tell the music industry to be faster at processing usage requests. Oh and maybe encourage them to lower their fees for youth activities. 5 Quote
mjoakes Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 They don’t have downloads for purchase? I’ve got several going back maybe 10 years. 1 Quote
larry333 Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 "there is literally no way for Marching Members to obtain a professional, legal copy of their own performances." True, so, the times have changed, so getting a copy is still easy, and it's inexpensive. To get a copy of performances: - Go to a "YouTube Video Saver" type site, enter the youtube URL, select the quality (1080 or higher) and download the performance. - Watch the video - Using these files, one can burn DVDs and/or blu-rays That's just how it's done nowadays...it's a do-it-yourself type thing...no DVDs or blu-rays available to purchase. Good Luck! Quote
