I could see the push coming from the fact that they lost GE and Visual. You can win on performance alone, but only be sheer luck.

Well, that could be the reason.  But, without doing the math for three nights, they did win GE one night.  Finals night they lost tying for GE first by 1/10 and won visual.  As GHOST asked me to post, there's got to be a story behind........."

I don't like the shade thrown the way of Mr. Potter and BAC's GE and visual captions. Boston finished 0.1 behind in GE to a corps at the top of its game, and Boston won overall Visual at Finals. It was superb design, and I found it thrilling to watch, especially live. Whatever the reasons for this decision, congratulations to them, and Boston and Mr. Potter will do very well.

Oh I’m definitely not throwing shade at Keith whatsoever. I love his designs. I’m just pointing at possible reasons a corps would let go of their designer after winning a championship. All of it is speculation.

Numerous reasons. They didn’t like the direction. Squeaked out a win on performance alone. Future ideas weren’t up to par. Disagreements during the season. Or simply another name entering the arena for them. Who knows.

Agreed - can't imagine it has to do with numbers.

Maybe he's difficult to work with. Maybe he's late in getting stuff done. Maybe the rest of the staff can do his job with less expense. Maybe he did this on his own. It could be any number of things that aren't directly related to competitive results.

I wish I could 😂. I made it as a joke when I first got on DCP to literally post one thing and I swore I’d never stay on…… here I am

I had about 3k posts until one day I came back, cringed at the username and changed it to my initials 😂. So generic.

Got to expect big changes at the Crossmen. In the last 4 years they have regressed to point where they were the 2nd best Open Class corps and only better than  perennial cellar dwellars Genesis and Cascades. Unless money problems prevent the corps from kaing it out in 26, I would bet there will be a new program coordinator and design team.

Spirit needs to look at visual and guard staffs. Music was in the Top 12.

Not sure what happened with Pacific Crest, but they get a mulligan for this year, although the visual designer from the Troopers didn't help.

I think it might take another year for the visual designer and PC to click, she was good enough to put Troopers in finals.

Crossmen was YOUNG this year, but the hokey theme did them no favors. It reminded me of when they fell out of finals just before going to Texas.

Maybe BAC will move Townsend into the role.  Kind of how Big Daddy Chandler’s role evolved with BD. And not that he’s doing a lot with the creative direction already.  Great post about the Aimachi baton twirlers from him.

I think PC could use a new brass arranger, but think the rest of the team has had more hits than missed.
