I loved that 2025 was so different for them compared to their previous half decade and more, but I don't think 4th place should make them deter from that. If anything, I feel like they should put the foot on the gas even more. Agreed. I LOVED the show last year. I connected with it in a completely different way than ever before. 3 Quote

I know people will scoff at your suggestion, but some of the Bluecoats' most amazing moments in their 2024 show were Big Band transcriptions. Great ones at that. Big band/orchestral jazz making a comeback would be more than welcome from me. 4 Quote

Actually developing a musical theme would be a ray of sunshine compared to attempting to develop an obscure show theme that 90% of the audience never seems to get. But the Crossmen tried that this year and we see where that got them. Quote

uneventfulhorizon Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 (edited) Hearing inklings that BD is having lots of returning brass vets this year, around 60 or so. They're cutting 4 mello spots and putting them into trumpets interestingly enough. Very excited to see how this plays out, The brass book should be really fun next year.
