As it is the off season and DCI has not yet announced the 2026 schedule, one could read way too much into this and interpret the later ST start as: 1. The competition season won’t start until later, perhaps July; or, 2. They finally shortened ST to save $ Quote

KVG_DC Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 I wouldn't doubt its a shorted "spring training" as 1) they have an extended May camp to get a lot of things going 2) they've not nailed down a spring training locale, meaning they may be looking to secure something West rather than their usual digs to shorten the travel to California. Meaning they could train right up to the first competition in what would probably the last week of June/first week of July like last year. Quote

Bloo has announced California tour in 2026; has BAC announced this as well? Quote

LabMaster Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Boston has not announced any Cali return tour, so its likely not happening. It was known by this time last year, because time was needed to prepare. Much like Bloo announcing this early I’m sure. The late ST start is probably twofold. One; last year DCI tried a July start but encountered resistance because it was not communicated well enough in advance and corps weren’t planning for it and weren't happy about it. So the season start dates were moved back a week to June. This year it is more probably starting in July. We’ll know soon enough. Two; Boston’s ST in VT last year, was only about 2 weeks long. Added ST time was in CO, once they flew west for the Cali tour. It’s not clear what the ST dates are or where their ST is for this year. There is no confirmation it will be in VT. Location may be the factor in the location. The added camp in May, may enable a shorter ST as well. A weekend camp may be more cost effective than a full week of ST. Plus Boston did have their entire show taught and on the field in the 2 week VT ST. Quote

If it's a later start in July, then I guess it's a 'no go' for the premiere in Muncie in conjunction with the Summer Symposium. That's a great show that I've enjoyed over the years. Also get to watch Crown rehearse. Edited October 26, 2025 by keystone3ply c Quote

I watched the Eaton rehearsals leading up to DATR and saw them learning a ton of choreo, equipment and prop work. The audio team spent a ton of time on balancing/micing issues, etc. They came into Colorado with solid "bones" but continued experimenting with all the layering. (ie. the guard girl learning to roll over the silver protons). Quote
