Not really. I watched the Eaton rehearsals leading up to DATR and saw them learning a ton of choreo, equipment and prop work. The audio team spent a ton of time on balancing/micing issues, etc. They came into Colorado with solid "bones" but continued experimenting with all the layering. (ie. the guard girl learning to roll over the silver protons).

They were starting to add pieces and layers but even members in an interview posted on yt, said they learned the show in 2 weeks.  They had all movements in place by the time they got out to CO.  The community performance in VT had all the movements done.  It is very typical to come out of ST then start  building and layering elements and tweak what may not be working exactly like they want.  This even begins during ST.

At the same time as they begin in-person auditions for the 2026 season (in Houston, TX), The Boston Crusaders will be recognized for their 2025 World Championship at this year's Thanksgiving Day Parade in Plymouth, MA.

Boston Crusaders to be honored at America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration Parade
by Chris Weber
PLYMOUTH, Massachusetts — Fresh off their 2025 Drum Corps International World Championship title, the Boston Crusaders’ historic accomplishment will be recognized during one of the nation’s biggest pre-Thanksgiving events — the America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration on Saturday, November 22.

The multi-day event is anchored by its centerpiece parade, which steps off from Plymouth Rock — the iconic symbol of the Pilgrims’ 1620 arrival — at 10 a.m. ET. The annual showcase is billed as “America’s only historically accurate chronological parade, visually bringing to life America’s rich heritage representing each century from the 17th through the 21st.”

Featuring floats decorated to convey historic events and mark national anniversaries, this year is also expected to feature one dedicated to the Boston Crusaders thanks to the organizing of Olly deMacedo, the executive director of America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration, and Barbara Gobbi DiRusso, the longtime producer/director of Plymouth’s National Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps Concert.

According to Boston Crusaders CEO Chris Holland, the organization will have 60-90 seconds of airtime with broadcasters between floats to talk about the corps. The float will be ridden by select performers from the 2025 World Champion group, as well as local volunteers and staff.

How weird is it to think about corps having their first regional 11 days after their first show.

Makes me feel uncomfy. I’m not enjoying this slow evaporation of the activity.

We are certainly a fickle lot here in DCP Land.  We literally devote hundreds of pages of commentary on how the touring model isn't sustainable and travel is clearly the biggest driver of these expenses.  Then, when the tour schedule comes out and there are fewer shows, fewer corps slated for those shows, and tour starting another week later, we act like we are all being shortchanged.

Come on folks!  Isn't it obvious that DCI (both the organization and the member corps) are trying to do whatever it takes to make tour MORE sustainable for everyone?

All true, but I think it's in the DCP Bylaws. Never let a good beech session go to waste.

DCP Land is full of histrionic posters, that's for sure. I certainly never said or implied anything about being shortchanged.  TheOneWhoKnows posted with a lamentable tone maybe, but certainly didn't say or imply anything about shortchanging.

It's just weird to me because I was going to live shows in Cali in the first week of June when my fandom started in the early 90s.  I have no doubt that tour will eventually start in July for pretty much every corps.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's 6 weeks or less within the next 5 years.  I'm in favor of anything that will help corps survive.
