wolfgang Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 Which do you prefer, the high cam view or multi-cam? Do you ever change in the middle of a contest? Quote
dureau Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 Usually multi-cam. Sometimes I change to high cam if I’ve seen the show previously. 1 Quote
OldSnareDrummer Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 I'm a multi cammer. I get enough hi cam shots during shows to satisfy. I like to see the closeups and tighter shots, the emotions and the facials, though I hate growling. Growling in drum corps should be banned. 2 Quote
keystone3ply Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 (edited) I like the high shots on multi-cam when the producer knows where to highlight in the show. But I bet some folks on here like to be 'high' while watching the multi-cam. Edited September 10, 2025 by keystone3ply c 1 1 Quote
greg_orangecounty Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 Multi, and if you switch back and forth between both you ask for trouble. 2 Quote
contraguard05 Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 High cam when I'm studying how they did something, multi when I let myself be a spectator. In the old days I'd watch the WGI videos on low cam to teach myself what they were doing Quote
Chief Guns Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 High cam for me. Nothing worse when a corps is getting ready to do a really cool visual moment, or the CG doing a full guard rifle toss, or the drumline is in front throwing down some tasty notes with some sick sticking............................and then that's the exact moment the camera cuts to the Piano/Synthesizer. 5 1 1 Quote
meredithmonkfish Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 High cam for a first read, multicam on a second read (just for enough time to see the uniforms/silks/props etc up close), high cam the rest of the season. You miss SO MUCH with multicam. Quote
KVG_DC Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 High cam early season. The Multi crews don't know what they'r doing yet. multi later to pick up details. It can also depend on the venue and the show. Sometimes "I wanna see that drill". high cam. Other times "that venue's hi cam angle is annoying". In person, I'm a 'mid level' sitter. I wanna be able to see the drill but not so far away that I'm missing details in the movement and guard. 5 Quote
