Lance Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 I'd put 93 well above it. I would've felt the same if the Cadets had gotten 2nd. Infreno was my favorite show of that year by a wide margin, but they left their best performance on Friday instead of Saturday, imo. 7 Quote

I sat near some PR folks who marched those years and as they reminisced, 78 was the heart breaker but 79 where they were only a tenth away from Blue Devils after prelims was the year they were robbed. Regarding 89, two of my favorite shows of all time are 89 SCV (over the 88 version) and 89 Phantom, so I go back and forth all the time. If not controversial with judges, 2012 Blue Devils over Crown was controversial with fans. In some sections of LOS it sounded as if a riot was about to start. 2019 Blue Devils over Bluecoats was quite controversial as well. I can remember the next day at the airport kids wearing Bluecoats jackets were so dejected. Quote

supersop Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 He did it for the clicks lol I kind of do and don't blame modern age-outs and fans for not knowing history back to 72 in this activity. I'm sure my fellow alums that went all the way back to '34 think the same way about my generation. Drum corps has been around a very long time. There's been plenty of controversy in her time. 2015 was a great year .. but I don't think any decision made by the judges that year was wrong. The top corps were all superb and deserving of winning a title. 3 Quote
