Given the stipulations laid out by the court ruling against Cadets, how is this in any way a good idea for anyone involved? It was my understanding that there can’t be any link to the original corps, including trademarked branding/logos/etc. This seems to be crossing the line in several ways.

There are going to plenty that rush here to argue with you about this. I agree it feels like they are purposefully pushing an established boundary.  I honestly do not understand why the people doing this could not put this energy into establishing a brand-new corps, without all the baggage the old image brings.

So far, no rush. This thing seems really cut and dried. Not many populate the Open Class forum but that’s the division the people organizing this group are applying for.

Some of the people directly involved are surprising, to say the least.

Not off to an auspicious start. 1 brass, 3 perc and 1 guard at first camp.

Not much of a “Legacy” is it?

I said this to one of the team, and i hope they take my advice: advertise what you want to be, not based on who you kind of were.

most kids today barely saw the Cadets compete, and in many ways know of the corps scandals and issues its last 7 years of existence more than every title going back to 1934. it was discussed in many threads on here that the Cadets brand was damaged. in a region with a bunch of all age corps plus the Raiders, there is a need for another DCI non all age organization. Cadets gone, Crossmen gone for almost 20 years now and Surf i am guessing done, kids either go all age, Raiders, or fly to whoever. I do know of some lcal kids to me heading up to Spartans. all things 1934, gold and maroon, For Holy Name etc have less and less meaning to kids now than it did 15 years ago. Be new. be bold. it's great to have the ideals of what Cadets should have been behind the scenes in addition to the success on the field, but that alone is not enough to build a new organization.

I can agree with this sentiment... and as much as I want to type a "but", I'm not getting anything right now.  😕

I do want them to succeed, however.
