2muchcoffeeman Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 Man. That is a shame. I applaud the sober management, but feel for the members who were looking forward to next year. The timing is puzzling; Drum Corps Planet posted a Mandarins auditions recruitment video just yesterday. Quote
erroneous Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 (edited) I’m thinking at some point drum corps will be like WGI. Local shows until finals in indie. That’s only way I think this activity can continue. Edited October 30, 2025 by erroneous 3 Quote

Wouldn’t mind seeing the devs/scv in my neck of the woods throughout July honestly. That’s what open class corps do in California anyway. Edited October 30, 2025 by erroneous 1 Quote

Slingerland Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 (edited) Appears to be an organization with a developed presence in the community and a stable financial history, so what is the problem? Maybe "DCI" is the problem. There's no plan to make the activity more affordable by putting up sensible guardrails on the competitive aspects and no ability to pay the corps enough to help offset the expenses involved in jumping thru the hoops. wolfgang Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 There was an allusion on reddit yesterday to a corp's design staff quitting en masse and an announcement of going inactive was forthcoming. Maybe this is who was being referred to. If so, what imternal issues caused staff to quit? If not, is there another corps that may announce? Quote
