greg_orangecounty Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 Is Georgia's band playing 16 counts of Symphonie Fantastique (March to the Scaffold) over-and-over again? I've wondered all season. Is that what it is? Quote

KVG_DC Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 In LoS, the combined IU/OSU band for the national anthem had me excited then I realized they were just doing environmental audio...it wasn't really hearable. Gives me more appreciation for the job they do the DCI finals in there to mic the field appropriately. 1 Quote

This was just echo and rather muted sound from some mic on a camera somewhere relative to whichever one they were shooting from. it was terrible from a sound point of view. Quote

Fred Windish Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 As an Alabama fan for 60 years, I am certainly disappointed after yesterday's collapse! As for bands, there has been nothing finer than to stand front and center at the steps of the University Library for pre-game pep rally with the Alabama Million Dollar Band. Great band, BIG TIME brass. Or maybe, it's just mingling with those always perfect Alabama Majorettes! No college can compare to that. None ! The SEC . . . it's just more! Good luck to Georgia! 🙂 Quote

Other ones you near a lot are Carmina Burana, Prague 1968, Verdi Requiem and a couple of Star Wars ones as well. Quote

Yup but I've never hear the Redcoat Band perform Symphonie Fantastique. @greg_orangecounty maybe talking about Dies Irea as they play it over & over. And it's about 16 counts in cut time.
