Bootleg Drum Corps recordings are and will become a major part of the Drum Corps merchandise ecosystem. My guess, Corps will ultimately at some future point produce some level of video/ audio of each season's shows.. or maybe just audio studio recordings. A couple of corps have done so already in the recent past on this front. Something I'm sure will be done in time to preserve each season's shows to fill the void created by DCI's disengagement now on this front. Its simply inconceivable that some legitimate means wont be developed... and sooner rather than later, imo... to address what is still a demand out there for Drum Corps show's yearly preservations . Otherwise, as you posted , to fill this void...... Edited December 20, 2025 by Boss Anova Quote

While many of us have strong feelings about recordings (video, audio, physical, & digital), if the math isn't working... then it's time re-evaluate. It's as simple as that, and there's honestly no better person after a year of evaluation/observation to make that call than Nate. This is now the business model of Drum & Bugle Corps under Nate Boudreaux's leadership: Pay thousands of dollars to join a corps and never be able have a legal copy of your performance to enjoy in the future, nor have anything to show school age kids to get them interested in your activity. Sounds like a real winning strategy!!! A first semester accounting major could look at the numbers and determine the current method of producing content is not working. Where Nate Boudreaux failed in my eyes is that he offered absolutely no alternative solution, or even a "we're working on it". Yes, we need a leader that understands fiduciary responsibility, but we also need one that can provide leadership, stability, and vision to tackle tough issues and improve the health of the activity. We needed a home run hire as DCI's next CEO, but so far it's looking more like a ground-out to first. 1 Quote

NB likely will think of btw 6 and a dozen things he has done to advance DCI on a number of fronts so far in his leadership tenure I'll get back on here to post what they are when I think of 1 of 'em. 2 Quote
Quad Aces Posted December 21, 2025 Posted December 21, 2025 Start/continue making your own videos, despite what the announcements during the show say. This year at BOA Grand Nationals, I saw some shotgun mics hooked up to cell phones. Just sayin’… Quote

Remember several years ago DCI had to cut a large six figure check to make up for YEARS of licensing requirements blatantly ignored. DCI then tried to figure out a way to make it work for as long as they could, but the licensing costs for the various license requirements just got to be too much. Blame Congress for doing nothing to address it. Blame the rights holders for being greedy ######## and refusing to work with DCI, DCA, BOA, WGI etc. but solely blaming Nate and DCI is blaming the wrong folks. or you can get your top 12 only DVDs anc CD's and pay $1000's for them. Because demand continued to shrink and costs continued to grow beyond Nate and DCI's control. DCI and the leadership is short sighted on many things they can or could control. this isn't one of them Edited December 22, 2025 by Jeff Ream 3 Quote

But when the same occurs with their recordings, the agency we created specifically to address costs and complexities tells us "we quit". Quote

Remember DCI is in business to get money back to the corps. if physical media or even downloads is losing money......why continue to pursue it? i'm not saying i'm a fan. but smart business says don't keep losing money. yeah i paid for every CD DCI put out, and every DVD too. and my 13 year old laughs at me, grabs her phone, pulls up youtube, and boom. Thats where DCI should be putting it and finding ways to monetize it. 2 Quote
