I know this to be true for the many years USBands has run at Giants Stadium and MetLife. I believe while YEA ran drum corps shows in Giants stadium, they were able to leverage the USBands deal to get the venue. Even at Hershey high school band circuits got a better rate than did Drum corps. so to me the scholastic component is key to affordability. I don't think Hershey has anything anymore. They lost the state football championships, Calvacade, and TOB. They are not easy to work with and are expensive. Quote

Chicago has been Condé Nast Traveler's top ranked Best Big City for nine years in row. No one who has spent any time in the Loop or nearby environs (including the Museum Campus area, which Soldier Field is part of) would call it "a disaster." The Bears will build in Arlington Heights, because they already own the property and the McCaskeys can do the math. The Indiana thing is a feint to try and get Springfield to pony up for the infrastructural improvements needed for them to maximize the value of the AH property, as the Bears know full well that the profit for them will be in attracting people to the area adjacent to the stadium, which can do business 365 days a year. Pritzker may budge a bit, but he's not rolling over the way that previous Illinois governors did. Once the Bears acknowledge that the taxpayers have to be the beneficiaries of any development, and not the marks, they'll move forward. Edited December 24, 2025 by Slingerland 1 1 Quote

SCV’s winning “Phantom of the Opera,” Phantom Regiment’s over whelming crowd pleaser: “New World Symphony,” Cadets’ “Les Miz,” Star of IN’s “British Invasion,” Freelancer’s John Williams / Spielberg show. It was an unreal three days, and I still hum the tunes to so many shows from that finals night. Can’t say that for any shows the past several years. Cavalcade left because the season got a week shorter and TOB already had championships weekend. I do agree they are not easy to work with. Even going to a concert or an event at the Giant Center can be a headache. 1 Quote

So who knows. A former senator from MO was on a talk show this morning & was truly devastated. I guess that could remain the Kansas City Chiefs. I think when they move they adopt the Kansas City Chefs like the commercial. 😁 Politically, Kansas City as a city is shared between Kansas and Missouri. However, tax dollars for the new stadium come entirely from the state of Kansas. Therefore… As far as the new Nissan stadium, I’ve many times proposed Nashville as a Regional and with the new park that will surround the new stadium, it solves the warm-up area issues that exist for the current stadium. Frankly I think the finals should rotate between Indy and Nashville. 2 Quote

I think it's possible since the Nissan Stadium is a municipal stadium like Lucas Oil which should make it more affordable. (Unlike the ATL venue.) But I think the new "Kansas Chiefs" (that's weird rolling off the tongue) stadium will be a P3 'public-private partnership' funded by private ownership with tax incentives. The folks in Kansas City & the rest of the state of Missouri are crushed this morning. Why would they not still be known as the Kansas City Chiefs??? The new stadium will be in Kansas City, Kansas. They are just moving a few miles from Kansas City Missouri, to Kansas City Kansas. Both cities are right next to each other and share the same name. Quote

(taps mic) "Is this thing on"? 😄 Yes, this was my follow up comment from 12/23/25: I just saw another story that the Chiefs are moving to Kansas City, Kansas, which is basically the same city split by the state line. But that works for their name. 🤷♂️ Edited December 30, 2025 by keystone3ply c Quote

The whole process has been a mess with them try to pit every suburb in Cook County against each other to see who will give them the biggest tax breaks. Quote
