Rich Stadium, The Ralph, Highmark … Whatever you call it, an era is ending in Orchard Park, New York. There are lots of stadiums that DCI doesn’t compete in anymore because the tour is in a rut, with all regionals in the same order and all roads leading to Indy

I understand why the tour is shorter, but I don’t understand why that equals less shows. Like there used to be 5 shows in Minnesota and you could do them all in rapid succession now. There are a lot of high schools in the area that wanna host a show but dci won’t give them one. And dci stole away centerville’s show

DCI wants to control shows, there are less corps than there used to be thus less corps available for show, it's harder to get housing so some viable show sights might've been discarded because of lack of corps housing, it seems corps are content having more rehearsal days/fewer shows nowadays than they did a few decades ago, etc.

You can also factor in a safety issue of corps traveling shorter distances between shows. No more 600 mile travel  and a couple of jors floor time, a brief rehearsal (maybe), perform,  then on to the next show.  Oh squeeze in time to eat and shower.  Corps have days between shows for most of their tours these days.

When were corps doing shows 600 miles apart on adjacent days?
