ranintothedoor Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I'll start. In 2011, I was the high school band director of a high school host site. I was hosting the Blue Knights. They were supposed to arrive around midnight-ish. They did not (not their fault... just life). They arrived around 2 am I think. I had fallen asleep. I suddenly woke up around 5 am or something with a start... I ran out to the front and there they were, trying to get ahold of me for hours... I let them in, mortified. They were so gracious and wonderful, but I robbed those kids of a lot of floor time. So upset. If you were in that corps that year, I profusely apologize! English Folk Suite is still one of my favorite drum corps shows... right next to Firebird the next year!!! Thanks BK! 4 Quote

keystone3ply Posted January 15 Posted January 15 While on tour, I walked into the women’s locker room to void but there were no urinals. I found it kind of odd & that’s when it hit me. Thankfully I was the only one in the wrong locker room. I was able to exit without anyone seeing me. 👍😬😂 2 Quote
waliman4444 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I met this girl at one of my corps practice..I was young and naive and thought she was beautiful..So i asked her out and I gave her my corps jacket as a token of my LOVE..lol....At the next practice, she showed with another guy wearing his corps jacket and she dissed me in front of my guys..I found out later that that was her M O...Going from corps to corps breaking hearts, bodies and collecting drum corps jackets!!...peace 2 Quote
perc2100 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I remember a show somewhere when I just _really_ had to go to the bathroom beforehand. On the walk from warmups to starting line I grabbed the snare outside of me as we passed a public bathroom, had him watch my SD, came out and 'speed walk' like I'd never sped walked before in my life to catch up with the rest of the drumline, who at that point was waiting with the horns outside the stadium to enter. Some were like "WTF were you doing?!" and I told them "it's better to duck out to pee real quick, so I have have a great show, rather than be distracted and potentially not have a great show," knowing that when I put it that way there was no WAY they could really argue with me 😏 2 Quote

troopers1 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) Missed the company front in my first competition, 1986 Troopers. Just 60 horns lined up with me trailing behind. Edited January 16 by troopers1 3 1 Quote
Mikah Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I can't think of any personal embarrassing drum corps moments, but one time, when I did a rifle exchange across the corps, my exchange partner exited the field in tears. I thought maybe he was injured, but he said he ripped the crotch out of his uniform. He was so embarrassed. I don't know if anyone ever noticed. I've never seen or heard any comments about his ripped-out crotch. Maybe no one noticed, or maybe they were just too polite mention it. 1 Quote

Males go to the left and females go to the right. My company has an annual meeting at a convention center that has the same restroom setup, but for some reason, some males get confused and want to go to the women's marked right side. 2 Quote
