DCI ends agreement with Marching Health

Marching Health (Dr. Elliot Cleveland) was caught liking far right wind propaganda online and it went viral over on reddit. He has since been removed, and has deleted his social media accounts.

Just saw this yesterday on Facebook where folks were sharing the post. I think DCI sent an email to the corps directors & the BOD that they have ended their partnership with Marching Health. 👍

I’m against wind propaganda in Drum Corps too.

I saw a post on Funliner's IG that despite DCI ending its partnership, as of February 3rd both Carolina Crown and Madison Scouts remained partners, along with several college and high school bands. It's all moving quickly, but will be interesting to see what Crown and Scouts do.

It’s no surprise Reddit users discovered his comments. There are some no stone unturned folks that love Reddit. What surprises me is that anyone who is even remotely in the public eye would not know that someone will check your Facebook, instagram, X, and Snap Chat accounts and in a community as small as drum corps, might know someone who is a friend allowed to see private pages. If you don’t want it public, don’t post it, and if you post it, even if your page is private, it can still become public.

This decision was made internally and is not a reflection of the quality, safety, or professionalism of the educators, ensembles, partners, or organizations we have worked with over the years.
 

We are grateful for the trust placed in us and remain proud of the students, directors, and professionals who have been part of this work.
 

We ask that all current and former partners be afforded respect and left out of online speculation or harassment as we complete the transition.

You are absolutely entitled to your opinion. But when your opinion is seen as hostile to a substantial portion of the people participating in the sector your business exists within, don't be surprised when people don't want to do business with you.

This is a free market and he did not have a monopoly. Consumers are free to seek comparable services from other producers whose values are more closely aligned with their own.
