Steven Rocco94 Posted April 29 Posted April 29 (edited) Just wondering why the Scouts don’t promote on here or social media anymore (or maybe they never really did) to create a buzz going into the season. They seem very opaque in terms of their upcoming season. They made an announcement about their first show in June, saying that’s when they will reveal their 2026 production. Until then, we simply have to wonder what kind of show they are doing. In their position, I don’t think being all secretive is a great way to promote, generate interest, raise money, or motivate alumni and their fan base to get involved. When I first became a fan of them back in the late 90s, there wasn’t social media, but somehow, everyone knew their repertoire going into the season and there was always a great buzz about it. That continued through the Sal Salas years and the Jim Mason years….but once he left, it just doesn’t seem like their administration cares about showcasing or promoting their brand. I think this is a huge mistake. Edited April 29 by Steven Rocco94 1 Quote
ftwdrummer Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Take a look at the "Programs & Playlist" thread. No, Madison isn't promoting that, but neither is almost-but-not-quite literally anyone else, either. Quote

I think this is a huge mistake. very few corps tell you what their show is early anymore. now many corps do updates from camps etc, but it's where we are. especially with licensing having to be finalized by April, stuff could keep changing. on the other hand, one corps used to update every little change they made as the winter went on, and often times while it genrated attention, it also created a lot of controversy Quote
Steven Rocco94 Posted April 30 Author Posted April 30 Ahh, that makes sense. Forgot about the licensing and copy rite issues. Quote
