Some things that would be memorably loud in my opinion: (I'll just include live performances that I saw in person)

1) Ending of Madison's 1980 show

2) Ending of Spirit of Atlanta's show 1980

3) End of "Malaga" - Freelancers 1981

4) End of "Georgia" - Spirit 1981

5) Opening of Phantom Regiment's 1983 show

6) 1984 Madison - end of "Cats"

7) Garfield's company front in "Tonight" 1984

8) Blue Devils, end of "La Fiesta" 1984

9) Madison 1985 - end of "Ballet In Brass"

10) Suncoast Sound - beginning of "Aquarius" - 1984

11) 1986 BD - end of show

12) 1987 - Santa Clara - Great Gate of Kiev

13) 1988 - Santa Clara - end of "Music of the Night"

14) 1989 - Phantom Regiment - end of show

15) 1990 - end of Star's show

16) 1990 - end of Blue Devil's show

17) 1991 - Phantom in "Baccanale"

18) 1992 - end of "When a Man Loves A Woman" - BD

19) 1993 - end of Phantom Regiment's "Malambo"

20) 1993 - end of Star's "Medea"

21) 1995 - Madison Scouts "El Toro Caliente" and "Malaga"

22) 1995 - Cavaliers' version of "Mars"

23) 1996 - opening and ending of Blue Devils

24) 1996 - opening hit of Phantom's show in "Ballet Suite"

25) 1997 - Colts opening of "Symphony for the Devil"

26) 1997 - Santa Clara in "On The Waterfront"

27) 2000 - Santa Clara in "Adagio for Strings"

28) 2000 - end of Cadets show

Probably many others -- but these immediately stand out to me.

Loudest thing I ever heard EVER at a drum corps show?

I was standing on the front sidelines in DeKalb, Illinois under the cement overhang (about 12 feet tall) during prelims on Friday night in 1995.  Madison came out and blew the place away -- the first and only time I've ever been out of breath just watching a corps dismantle a stadium.  It was relentless, powerful, and the most fun I'd had at a drum corps show in a VERY long time! :)

in re to 2001 Brigs it was said they had four volumes...between songs, backfield., moving and standing still lol ^:)

HAHAHAHA

I like what Ben Harloff called it this year, he said I want you to start this pp then creschendo to f the first time.  The second time I want you to start at f and creschendo to Syracuse Brigadiers volume level!!!

Good thing we were standing still Eh?

1983 Garfield Cadets - Cary, N.C.  A week and a half before Championship Week.  End of opener "Rocky Point Holiday".  The manuever combined with those chords, in a small high school football stadium = hair standing up on the back of my neck (just thinking about that is doing it again!)

I am a little biased here, but I'll go ahead with my pics:

1996 Blue Devils (I saw them perform the show 6 times and remember seeing fog coming out of a few sopranos during the victory-runs.)

1997 Crossmen...big sound at the end of the show for a 50+ member hornline!

2000 Crossmen...Caravan park 'n blow

There are a few examples of "loud" hornlines I remember.  I also give nods to the Scouts for always bringing a volumunous hornline to the table, year after year.

Yeah, I remember coming up from under Camp Randall stadium after our finals performance, hearing the Scouts play followed by an audience response I hadn't heard since the 97 X-men/Madison closers...I thought the place was coming down :-)
