OldManAlto
I also like the kanstul M6, but it takes alot of practice on it to feel comfortable...and with a sharp rim, it's liable to kill ya
SoonerMellophone
The Marcinkiewicz mellophone mouthpieces are the most consistent when it comes to tuning. They also have HUGE backbores that really let you project. Its a shame that haven't made them for 15 years.
JazzCat82
across the board, the "6"s seem to be pretty much the standard, whether its the benge, umi, conn, kanstul...all pretty much the same. Devs used the 6v and it has just a little sweeter sound..
Dasro_Kast
I'm using a Deg 6V, and I enjoy the sound I get. The UMI 1736 is the current gen version of the benge mello 6, am I correct? I'm thinking of trying that mouthpiece just to see what it's like, but I have no problems at all with the deg 6v, aside from clarity in the upper register (though I attribute that more to the deg mello bugle I'm using than the mouthpiece). A guy in our mello line is using a Curry Trumpet-Flugel hybrid that he likes alot, and I know he gets a nice, rich sound as well.
hboyce
I've played on a UMI 6, Benge 6, DEG 6, and a DEG 6V. My absolute favorite is the 6V. Such a sweet sound. Sounds great down low and up high.
Gold Leader
David, Im not sure any mouthpiece is gonna help that piece of tin you're playing on this season. Why don't you play on a REAL horn, like a Kanstul. :) Patrick

BMBob
I'm using a Curry 1TF right now. I was using a mello 6, but I wanted a wide diameter, and this gives me that, without the change in tone that comes with most trumpet mouthpieces, or having to use an adapter on a cornet mouthpiece. I like it a lot.
the ender
I currently use a Kelly 6V It's plastic, color customizable, easy on the lips, and cheap. I really don't know how it compares to all of the above, but it's better than the King 6 i used to use.
