1970s Top 3

Recommended Posts

Speaking of "...seeing myself on the big screen..." In 67, Anaheim Kingsmen played at the debut of Raquel Welch's epic "1 Million Years B.C." at the Fountain Valley Drive-In. Slick enough for a lusty 20 year old boy to get to sit close to the lovely Ms. Welch (short white leather ensemble with way short mini, high white boots....what a beauty!) but about a week later at the "Finger Bowl" aka Lincoln Drive-In in Anaheim, a Kingsmen Date-Night favorite. we got to see ourselves on that big old drive-in screen on the newsreel coverage of the previous week's movie debut.....we looked good!

Joe Bob Briggs would have been so proud.....marching chicks in high, black leather boots, studly young musicians, Raquel Welch.....and a drive-in!

I love show bidnetz!

OOPS - our first year of Crown was 1973 - it was our OTL - under the big 3 of Ike Ianessa, Jim Buckley, Jim Wedge.

Purple Lancers from Auburn NY also played it - more like the original version, but Wedge did the best re-arragement of Walton's score.
